We've been interested in moving to jQuery from Prototype for some time (only the destination pages uses the framework) just because it seems like a good idea.
I light-groked your source code earlier and now I feel like I know you on an entirely new level.

Haha, I swear that sometimes I comment my code... and even debug using more than just print statements. This just wasn't one of those times :P
I will say that programming with JQuery is a lot faster than Prototype... and I've had a lot of experience with Prototype since it's what I used all last summer for work.
